Tablecloth embroidered in Beauvais stitch, dragons and swans - Lot 41
Tablecloth embroidered in Beauvais stitch, dragons and swans facing each other, 2nd half of the 19th century. Fringed tablecloth with granite weaving with a large frame finely embroidered in Beauvais stitch in four colors, decorated with scrolls, dragons and small snails embroidered in raspberry red and pale pink, angry swans, small dragons, butterflies and scrolls embroidered in gray-blue and white, the spandrels embroidered with a large medallion with a supple ribbon and scrolls topped by a basket with ears of wheat, finished with knotted bangs. Dim. 2 m x 1,80 m (very good condition) We join a damask tablecloth with frame to the leaned griffons and to the volutes in two colors ochre and pale blue, underlined by a small frieze of pale blue palmettes, semis of palmettes, finish to knotted bangs. Dim. 1,05 m x 1,05 m (very good condition)
