SACRE LOUIS XVI - PATAS Coronation of Louis XVI, king of France and Navarre, at Rheims on June 11, 1775 [...] Enriched with a large number of intaglio figures, engraved by Le Sieur. P., Librairie des Menus-Plaisirs du Roi et chez Patas, printed by Maillet, 1775. In-8, full morocco, covers framed with a triple fillet decorated in corners with the fleur de lys. Royal coat of arms stamped in the center, ornamented bands, interior roulette. Spine with fleur-de-lys, title page. Golden edges. Small rubs not serious, corners very slightly dulled. XVI, 190 pp, [59] ff. of text and plates of explanations of clothing, 124 pp, approval. Complete with the often missing folding map of Reims, the engraved frontispiece symbolizing the coronation, the double plate of the coat of arms, the 9 other double plates and the 39 figures of costumes. Vignettes. First edition in-8 published the same year of the coronation, in 1775. An edition in-4 was also available the same year. See Quérard, t. 3, p. 385; Cohen, 360.
