Royale, 1786. In-8, full calf, boards framed with a triple fillet and stamped in their center with the Breteuil arms, smooth spine decorated with intertwined "Ls" and surmounted by a crown. Ornate boards, gilt edges. 96 pp. 1 ff. of mistakes to correct, 6 plates. Copy bound with the Breteuil arms. Antoine-François Vincent (1743-1789), pensioner of the king, was a history and animal painter. His work is illustrated with six folding plates numbered 2,6,7,8,9,10. In spite of what this numbering might lead one to believe, the volume appears to be complete with the plates as attested by the Huzard library sale catalog and the bibliography of Mennessier de La Lance. Ex-libris Montmorency with sixteen alerions. Catalog of the library of the late Mr. J.B. Huzard, 3rd part, 1842, n°4463 - Mennessier de La Lance, 628, which only refers to these six plates.
