HUYSMANS, Joris-Karl (1848-1907). Set of 9 pieces: 4 L.A.S., 4 C.A.S. and an autograph visiting card, addressed to the lawyer and friend of naturalists Gabriel Thyébaut (1854-1922). [Paris], 1884-1885. About 8 pp. in-12, in-12 oblong and in-16 oblong. Two envelopes preserved. Amusing bills of appointments, dinners and outings: "[...] I am gored by the connétable of the rue Rousselet, without being able to deny myself", "Because of the chastisement, at Flore Votre. Or on the median of the Lipp brewery opposite", "Tomorrow, in these fetid times, we will meet at the Café de Flore [...]", "Friend Caze is coming to dinner [...] you will be kind enough to accept the humble dinner of the mastroquet [...] 7 o'clock at Lachenal's, the hot one of wines". "Tonight is the premiere of Sapho! [...] Who will abolish the theaters?". "I don't know if I'll see you tonight at Zola's, but tomorrow, Friday, the cahute on the rue de Sèvres is closed in the evening. I must go to a spiritual concert of Wagner", etc. He also evokes Colin, his sister Blanche, etc.
