ARNAUD, Antoine - The first and the second savoisienne, where one sees how the dukes of Savoy usurped several Estats belonging to the Kings of France: As the Kings of France have several of them for cruel enemies, to see even all those which were the closest in their Alliance: As the Church received great offenses from them: the feigned proposals of Peace which were made in Paris, Lion, Suze, Pignerol, & elsewhere, to deceive the King, to make perish the Armies, & to subjugate Italy, without means of being able to oppose it; & consequently the necessity of this last war. Plus, a summary description of all the Princes of this House, until the year 1630

2 parts in 1 vol. in-12, full calf, spine with ornate nerves, double fillet and frame on the plate, scrolls in the center. Ornate edges, interior scroll. Later binding. (4) + XCII - (4) + 323 pp. + (1). Pages browned, upper margin short in places, some stains.
The second part is attributed to Bernard de Rechignevoisin. A good copy of this uncommon work which revisits the eventful relations between France and Savoy. Ex-libris Joseph Tardy.
