COMMEMORATIVE PLATE. In fine glazed earthenware with central decoration of a grisaille printed portrait of Victor Hugo towards the end of his life from a photograph by Nadar, surrounded by scenes illustrating his life, including his meeting with King Louis-Philippe, his exile and the party given on his 83rd birthday. As is. French work, Sarreguemines, late 19th century. Accidents, wear of time and restorations. Diameter : 21,5 cm. Reference : see in the book "Victor Hugo par le bibelot", by Paul Beuve and Henri Daragon, published in 1902, a copy of this bust is visible on page 8, illustrated on plate II.
