DOUCET Camille (1812-1895) - Lot 382
DOUCET Camille (1812-1895) French poet and author. L.A.S. : "Camille Doucet", addressed to Victor Herbin (1804-1868), June 6, 1848, in-4°, 2 ½ pages. Tears. See illustration on page 106. "So here I am in Paris just enough to give one more voice to Victor Hugo, and tomorrow I leave again for the country; but this time I will be only a few leagues from Paris, almost the suburbs. If therefore you do not find me too emigrated, I accept with joy the honor to be one of you. How ardently I applaud this noble and opportune thought of a saving congress for the suffering letters for the theaters in peril. I join you wholeheartedly at least do the rest. If you do not fear that my good will will suffer from my distance. In any case, please believe in my gratitude for your memory, in my wishes for your work finally in my true devotion to you."
