DESCHANEL Émile (1819-1904) - Lot 381
DESCHANEL Émile (1819-1904) French writer and politician, father of President Paul Deschanel. L.A.S.: "Émile Deschannel" addressed to Victor Hugo, July 24, 1844, in-4°, 3 pages. Bends. "I am very unhappy in my love for you; I never find you alone anymore. It is still a great honor, I know, to be admitted before you -even with others. But, in this way, I cannot enjoy any more our good long conversations, where you poured to me in floods without almost thinking of it so many ideas, so many images, so much poetry, crumb of your rich feast, of which I was nourished avidly, and which I still savored with delight a long time after I left you. (...)". History: This document is an exceptional letter of admiration and unconditional love for Victor Hugo, from the father of the future president of the French Republic, Paul Deschanel.
