ALEXANDRINSKY SERVICE FOR THE TABLE OF TSAR NICOLAS II. Imperial Manufacture, Saint Petersburg, 1894-1917. Suite of 6 hard porcelain dinner plates, with scalloped edge, white background, framed by a border decorated with three polychrome cartouches representing bird scenes decorated with garlands of flowers on a blue background. Good condition. Green marks on the reverse: N II (Nicolas), under imperial crown, dated 1899, 1900, 1901. Diameter: 25 cm. History : The Alexandrinsky service was commissioned by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna in 1899 for the Winter Palace. The service, named in honor of the empress, included nearly 1,300 pieces and was inspired by a Sevres service ordered for the furniture storage room. Reference: See the book by N.
