JAIME, de Bourbon, duc de Madrid (1870-1931) Set of eleven autographed letters addressed to the prince by Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (June 30, 1923), Prince Alfonso of Bourbon (August 7, 1921), King Christian of Denmark (August 8, 1921), Prince Paul of Yugoslavia (September 5, 1923), Prince Ruprecht of Bavaria (December 9, 1921) Pope Pius XI (April 29, 1922), Princess de Caraman-Chimay, lady-in-waiting of Queen Elizabeth of Belgium (June 30, 1923), Infante Alfonso de Bourbon (June 11, 1923), Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg (March 26, 1923), Princess Alicia (June 7, 1923) and Princess de Caraman-Chimay (July 1, 1923). Some letters are on headed paper. There is enclosed a typed letter signed by Prince Jaime addressed to Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (June 22, 1923), another autograph letter signed by the prince addressed to the Duchess of Uzès (December 20, 1921) and the Memoir written by Marie-Thérèse of France on the captivity of the princes and princesses her parents since August 10, 1792 until the death of her brother in June 1795, published in Paris by the Éditions historiques in 1923. Provenance: former collection of H.R.H. Don Jaime de Bourbon, Duke of Madrid, who was a legitimist pretender to the French throne from 1909 to 1931.
