SUCCESSION OF THE COUNT OF CHAMBORD. A 12-page typescript document, entitled "Inventory of the papers of the Count of Chambord", in which were the documents of the Affair of Spain, the letters of King Charles X and the Count of Chambord dating from 1830 to 1832, an important file on the Orleans affair, the correspondence of the Countess of Chambord, the will of the Countess of Artois with a packet of her hair, a set of letters from the Duke of Levis to Berryer (1832-1862), a note on the coup d'état of December 2, 1852, the diaries of the Duchess of Parma, various notes and documents on political projects with a plan for a constitution, correspondence with sovereigns and members of foreign royal families, the list of paintings by the Count of Chambord, a document on the Naundorff affair, a document on the abdication of Rambouillet, etc. In-folio format. Freckles, but good condition. Provenance: former collection of H.R.H. Don Jaime de Bourbon, Duke of Madrid (1870-1931). Brought back from his castle of Frohsdorf (former residence of the Count of Chambord) in France in March 1920.
