BEAUTIFUL PAIR OF LARGE VASES, PARIS PORCELAIN, 19th CENTURY. Of spindle form, resting on a square base, decorated with stylized motifs of golden foliage and foliage on a pale pink background, decorated on each side with a cartouche representing a polychrome scene of characters in traditional dress, illustrating scenes of Chinese folk life on a golden background, and surmounted by a coat of arms decorated in grisaille with a landscape on a blue background topped by a bird with spread wings. Topped with two openwork handles forming rings. Some small restorations and wear of time. H.: 40 cm - L.: 20 cm - Diam.: 17 cm. Provenance : former collection of the marquise Gaston de Gallifet, born Florence Georgina Laffitte (1843-1901), daughter of the count Charles Laffitte, as indicated by the label stuck under the base, bearing the handwritten inscription : This pair of vases was bought 70 francs in 1894 by the marquise de Gallifet at the store of the "Premier Consul", 56 rue Miromesnil.
