Oil on canvas, bearing on the lower part of the painting the identification of the characters represented in this historical scene 1: the Duke of Anjou who has just been proclaimed king of Spain, under the name of Philip V, at his knees, the Spanish ambassador, the Marquis of Castel dos Rios; 2: King Louis XIV; 3: The Grand Dauphin, son of Louis XIV; 4: the Duke of Burgundy; 5: the Duchess of Burgundy; 6: the Duke of Berry; 7: the Duke of Orleans; 8: the Duke of Chartres; 9: the Prince of Conde; 10: the Prince of Bourbon; 11: the Prince of Conti; 12: the Duke of Maine; 13: the Count of Toulouse; 14: the Duke of Vendome; 15: the Grand Prior. Wear and tear from time to time, but good general condition. H. : 137,5 cm - L. : 105 cm. History: the scene of this historical painting takes place on November 16, 1700, in the presence of King Louis XIV who officializes the decision of King Charles II of Spain, having had no descendants, to designate the young Duke of Anjou, grandson of King Louis XIV of France, as the heir to the Spanish throne. Thus, the young prince was proclaimed king of Spain under the name of Philip V.
