Exceptional court sword that belonged to the Baron de Breteuil (1730-1807) Guard has a branch in iron chased in relief of riders and garlands on a gold background amati. The fuse is decorated with a double filigree gold and silver. The quillon represents a character. Triangular blade engraved on a third of scrolls and decorations on a gold background. The scabbard is present in spite of accidents and the lack of the bouterolle, and the chape en suite has been preserved. Note: This sword is the one shown on the portrait of the Baron de Breteuil now kept in the Louvre Museum (RF1963 4). Length : 95cm We enclose the discharge of the legacy of the sword to the Duke of Montmorency, dated January 31, 1808.
