Goldsmithing [Auguste, orfèvre]. Memorandum of a toilet delivered to Mr. the count of Matignon for madam the countess, by Auguste, m[aître] goldsmith... (1 page in-8). The piece is signed and dated (with 3 autograph lines) by Diane de Clermont d'Amboise, marquise de la Vaupalière (1733-1804), widow of Marie François Auguste Goyon de Matignon and mother-in-law of the countess of Matignon, and by Robert-Joseph Auguste (with 5 autograph lines). Accounts for a gilt toilet presented in its rosewood case and red morocco case, delivered in April 1773, for the sum of 6722 livres. Robert-Joseph Auguste was received as a master in Paris in 1757 and became the king's ordinary goldsmith in 1777. [Auguste, goldsmith]. Supply of a coffee and tea set (1 page in-8) November 12, 1783. Detail, with their weight, of the pieces and their amount for a total, with the control, of 1 155 livres, with signature of Robert-Joseph Auguste. [Auguste, goldsmith]. Receipt for 2000 livres on account for goldsmith's work, February 11, 1786, for the baron de Breteuil. Receipt signed by Henry Auguste, son and successor of Robert-Joseph Auguste. -B7
