DIVINATORY CUP called "magic" bowl, made of partially tinned - Lot 314
DIVINATORY CUP called "magic" bowl, made of partially tinned copper alloy, of circular shape with flared edges. The outer wall is engraved with an eight-petaled lotus flower calligraphed at the heart in the form of a five-pointed star, and a long inscription along the outer rim. The interior is decorated with an inscribed cartouche, two tughra motifs, an almond-shaped owner's seal "Tador (Theodore?) sahib" and an ARMENIAN seal dated 1875. The rim is engraved with a long epigraphic frieze on two lines. Ottoman Empire, dated 1875. H.4.9 cm - Diam. 15,1 cm
