The fledglings and the cage, circa 1850 Folded fan, the double sheet in lithographed paper and enhanced with gouache of a country scene. The reverse side illustrated with Diana and her nymphs. Mounted in pierced bone, engraved and silvered with foliage. Gilded metal clasp. H.t. 27.2 cm (cuts) *A fan box covered with garnet leather is attached. The interior bears the address of the Parisian fan maker Vanier-Chardin. L. 32 cm (wear, small missing clasp)
