Abigael and David, ca. 1770-1780 Folded fan, the gouache-painted vellum leaf of Abigael offering food to David while his soldiers watch and a maid brings more provisions. Bouquets of flowers and still lifes with fruit in the side panels. Reverse: tree sketched in brown. Mounted in ivory* cut and engraved with vases and characters.
