The Mule and the Cooper, ca. 1760-1770 Folded fan, the sheet in skin, lined with paper, and painted with gouache of two cartels surrounded by foliage, flowers, and bunches of grapes. On the left, a small child tries to catch a bird, near a couple greeting each other. Reverse: flowers surrounding a house and its campanile. Mounted in ivory* cut, engraved, painted and enhanced with mother-of-pearl decorated with characters in the Chinese style, birds and flowers. H.t. 26,5 cm-H.f. 12,8cm (wear, important restorations)
