SERVICE OF THE ORDER OF SAINT-WLADIMIR. Imperial Manufactory, Saint Petersburg, 1825-1855. Hard porcelain plate, round shape, slightly hollow, enhanced with a gold border and edged with a ribbon in the colours of the Order of St. Vladimir, decorated on the upper part with a nomogram S in gold letter under a count's crown (possibly Stroganoff or Schouwaloff) and on the lower part with three insignia of the order, including a military title and a feat of arms, in the centre appears the plaque of the order. Time wear to the gilding, but good general condition. Blue marks on the reverse: H. I. (Nicolas I), under imperial crown. Diameter: 24 cm. History: This plate representing the Order of St. Vladimir is part of the service of the same name which was intended for the annual solemn reception of the holders of the Grand Cross of the said Order. This service was originally designed by the Gardner factory, then taken over by the imperial factory.
