STYLE LOUIS XVI DESKTOP ENCRIBER. By TILLANDER OR THIELEMANN for FABERGÉ, Saint Petersburg, 1908-1917. In the form of a covered vase carved in nephrite, with applied decoration of garlands of laurel in dull yellow gold held by ribboned knots in pink gold set with rubies and in the center of the monogram T. B. The opening is made by a pine cone finely chiselled in two gold colors. It rests on a rectangular base rounded on the corners, forming a slightly hollow tray, bordered by a frieze of laurel leaves in yellow gold on a pink gold base. Good condition. Title mark: 56, St. Petersburg, 1908-1917. Goldsmith's mark: A. T.: (possibly Alfred Thielemann, active from 1880 to 1910, working exclusively for Fabergé, or Alexandre Tillander (1837-1918)). H. : 11 cm - W. : 16,5 cm - D. : 9 cm. Total gross weight : 403 g. Provenance : former Henri Ford II (1917-1987) collection, from his Palm Beach residence, Sotheby's sale 30 March 2021.
