PAUL COLLIN (1892/1985): Painter, illustrator, costume designer and set designer. The most innovative and influential French poster artist-lithographer of the first part of the 20th century. He signed famous posters for Loïe Fuller, Carlos Gardel, Serge Lifar, Maurice Chevalier, Joséphine Baker, Jean Sablon... but also for Parisian cabarets and theatres. 1 original poster of the Tabarin, a famous cabaret-bal, located 36 rue Victor Massé in the 9th district of the capital, which opened in 1904 until 1953. In 1928, the establishment was sold to Pierre Sandrini, the artistic director of the Moulin-Rouge, and his associate Pierre Dubout. They transformed the place into a music hall and asked Paul Collin to create the advertising poster for the launch of the new revue in September 1928. The poster is dedicated: "To my old friend Jarrasse, with my best memory. Paul Collin". Format: 61,5x46,5. Rare.
