Sleeping Lovers, ca. 1880 Folded fan, painted silk sheet of Venus in company of lovers. One sleeping on his knees, a second holding an hourglass. The last one having just shot an arrow. Reverse side in skin painted with gilded foliage. Mounting in white mother-of-pearl finely cut, carved, engraved, burgued and gilded with two cartels decorated with doves. In the center, a couple near a bird cage. On the plume, a child lets a bird escape from its cage. Gilded metal clasp and tassel of passementerie. H.t. 28,3 cm-H.f. 13,5 cm (small cuts)
