The irises, circa 1890 Folded fan, the silk leaf painted with purple irises on a misty background. Signed on the left "L. Gille". Dumb reverse. White mother-of-pearl mount, the throat engraved with a landscape and irises in the foreground, heightened in color and gilt. The plumes engraved with yellow irises and daffodils, enhanced in color. Silver plated metal clasp. H.t. 35,2 cm-H.f. 23 cm In a box covered with cream silk bearing the figure "F.W." under crown. Label of the fan maker under the lid "L. Giraudeau, succr/Anc.ne Mon Lepault Deberghe 2 Bould de Strasbourg Paris".
