The Swan and the Maiden, ca. 1820-1830 Folded fan, the double paper sheet engraved with a swan approaching a young woman on the shore. Rich gilded scrolls on the sides. On the reverse, in a monumental vase, loves play among butterflies and flowers including roses, tulips and pansies. Gilded brass mounting, the strands with repeated geometric decoration. The plumes in relief enhanced with purple glass cut in imitation of amethysts. H.t. 21,8 cm-H.f. 12,4 cm (cuts, small lacks)
