The Chariot of Dawn, circa 1690 Folded and dismantled fan leaf, pasted on wood, painted on a black background after Guido Reni's work, "The Chariot of Dawn". Preceded by the Dawn, Apollo holds the reins of his horses pulling the chariot of the Sun. Around him the hours dance. This allegorical composition is borrowed from the Italian painter Guido Reni who realized this fresco for the Parravicini Rospigliosi Palace in Rome between 1612 and 1614.
