Les amours du pèlerin, ca. 1750-1760 - Lot 125
Les amours du pèlerin, ca. 1750-1760 Folded fan, the double skin sheet (cabretille) finely painted with a square lined with colonnades. Peasant women holding baskets witness the meeting of an elegant woman wearing a fan and a pilgrim with his cape and staff. The composition is open on a bay where a ship is sailing. Original border with interlaced blue ribbon. Painted reverse of a maritime view, perhaps the bay of Naples, with fortifications and a lighthouse. A butterfly, a dragonfly and a fly in trompe-l'oeil complete the composition. Ivory mount* pierced, cut, carved, engraved and enhanced in colors of two gallant scenes. The cartels lined with burgau. Rich and original central subject with a couple accompanied by two children, dancing to the sound of a violin. H.t. 28,5 cm-H.f. 11,9 cm (restorations, missing burgau)
