The Lovers' Games, ca. 1760 Folded fan, the leaf in skin, mounted in English, and painted with gouache of a shepherd binding the hands of his companion. She is half-lying under a tree. In the background, a shepherd is running behind a young woman. Rich lateral ornaments decorated with silk cut flowers in relief, foliage enhanced with mother-of-pearl and green tinted straw. Reverse painted in the Chinese taste of a family in a garden among birds and flowers. Flowers executed in straw, in border. Ivory mounting* finely cut, pierced and engraved with three cartels.
