Transparency of mica, Voyage au Pays du Levant, circa 1760 Rare folded fan, the skin sheet painted with gouache, and opened by transparent windows in "mica", a mineral giving the illusion of glass, and drawing three large cartels on the theme of daily life. Rocks, roses and characters inspired by China bring them together. The clothes of the characters are enhanced with silk in relief, the plants are executed in natural straw, and feathers. Some flowers on the reverse side, and hand screens. Mounting in ivory* finely cut, engraved, gilded and enhanced with natural and colored straw with decoration of pagodas, Chinese and flowers. H.t. 26,7 cm-H.f. 12 cm (very good condition, restorations)
