Concerto in the garden, circa 1730 Folded fan, the double sheet in wallpaper of a couple composed of a singer and a hurdy-gurdy player in a garden. The composition is borrowed from the "Recueil des Modes" of the engraver Hérisset, published by Crépy, a print merchant in the rue Saint-Jacques at Paris, in 1730. Painted reverse of a young woman in a grove. Bone mount, the throat painted with bunches of grapes and musical instruments. Brown tortoiseshell** and white mother-of-pearl marquetry plumes drawing birds, characters and foliage. H.t. 29,3 cm-H.f. 18 cm (wear, restorations)
