Cherry Blossoms, Japan, ca. 1880 Folded fan, the double sheet of cream silk painted with a snowy landscape. A peasant joins his house walking among pine trees and weeping willows. The reverse side painted with a pair of peacocks among peonies and a pine tree with a twisted trunk. Ivory frame*, the throat decorated with a bird on a quince tree branch, in golden lacquer or "shibayama". The plumes decorated with golden lacquer of a bird, among branches of quince tree enhanced with flowers executed in mother-of-pearl and coral. Metal clasp. Tassel of silk trimmings, and ivory "ojimé "* with gilded lacquer decoration. H.t. 33,5 cm-H.f. 17 cm (very good condition, small stains, small restoration)
