RENAUD AND ARMIDE, CIRCA 1780. Folded fan, double sheet of cream silk painted with a pink border framing painted cartels of love and love symbols. In the center, evocation of Torquato Tasso's novel, La Jérusalem délivrée. The knight in love is kneeling at the feet of the sorceress. The leaf is enhanced by branches in sequins and coloured ribbons. Reverse side painted in pink cameo of foliage. Ivory mounting finely pierced, carved, engraved and gilded, of a couple and two young women. The plumes are decorated with medallions, one painted under glass with a fisherman on a bridge, the other with a mirror. H.t. 27,9 cm / H.f. 13 cm (good condition, back restored).
