Mentor, Dido and Aeneas, ca. 1780 Folded fan, the double sheet of beige silk painted with trophies in medallions framing an oval color engraving. The young Aeneas is under the spell of Dido's companions, while the queen walks away with Mentor. Two birds made of natural feathers decorate the medallions. Mounted in finely pierced bone, engraved and gilded with scrolls. H.t. 28,5 cm-H.f. 13,5 cm (restorations, wear, stains)
