JAEGER Lampora, vers 1930 Rare and beautiful double sided desk clock forming a lamp. Chrome plated tilting cap and red marble base. Time display by disc dial in a window on each side. Mechanical movement 8 days. (As is, unopened, wear, small dent in shade). Engraved The officers of the SIROCO. H. : 20 cm. The Siroco, also known as Sirocco, is a French torpedo boat of the Bourrasque class. She was built from 1925 at the Chantiers de Penhoët in Saint-Nazaire. During the Second World War, the ship participated in the first operations in May 1940. On 11 May 1940, she was hit by a bomb from the German air force which did not explode. After destroying several German submarines in the Pas-de-Calais Strait, the Siroco took part in the Battle of Dunkirk. On 29 May, it allowed the first evacuation of 600 soldiers to Dover. It was sunk on 31 May 1940 while taking part in Operation Dynamo.
