Rare knotted lace sculpture, Margareten-Spitze, early 21st century. Mrs. Margarete Naumann, a German artist, invented a micro-macramé lace technique called "margaretenspitze" at the beginning of the 20th century without any tutorial. There are only a few examples of Mrs Margarete Naumann's creations, most of which were destroyed during the Second World War. Mrs. Sonja Dorfmeister commissioned Mrs. Heike Becker, one of the few lacemakers using this technique today, to create this unique "Puppe" sculpture, specifying that she wanted this particular subject of a girl in a skirt with her hat and quilts, next to a tree in a flowery meadow. This sculpture in white mercerised cotton is chiselled with many small details finely made in this unique lace technique.  Dim. 12 cm x 10 cm x 8 cm approx. (very good condition) Placed under a glass globe with a removable wooden base. (small crack at the bottom of the globe) Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
