Long ruffle with symbols of Christ, Brussels, end of the 19th century. Sumptuous ecclesiastical ruffle with a very fine repetition of decoration with spindles and needle: crucifixion cross with an arrow pierced heart and the monogram JHS in Gauze stitch, crown of thorns, ciborium, ears of wheat, garland of flowers and large roses in full bloom with the spindles, the petals decorated with fine and varied patterns in needlework, the number MH in Gauze stitch at each end. Motifs applied on a very fine spindle network, a process rarely used during the second half of the 19th century. Cream coloured cotton, Dim. lace : 5,25 m x 20 cm (good condition, a few pinholes at the beginning and end of the ruffle, a tear)
