Boutis quilt, coat of arms and count's crown, Languedoc, mid 18th century. In fine cream-colored linen, quilted, padded and embroidered with a beautiful and dense decoration: in the center the arms of a Languedoc family, two lions and fess waved under a scallop shell and surmounted by a countal crown with each of the beads adorned with a motif such as heart pierced by an arrow, cross of various shapes or star, the spandrels adorned with a beautiful and large complex figure with a countal crown with beads adorned in the same way, sowing of flowers and bouquets in mirror, frieze of border with foliage scrolls and flowers. Hemmed with a later flounce in linen embroidered with flowers. Dim. quilt: 135 x 105 cm Width flounce: 21 cm Total: 1.77 m x 1.47 m (good condition, rare small accidents)
