Lacemaker's tile, Puy en Velay, end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Lacemaker's tile or cushion from the Puy en Velay region with its two pious images, one on each side, painted gutters with openwork edges imitating lace and adorned with brightly coloured metal tassels embossed with various shapes and sizes, including bees, fish, hearts, stars, flowers and leaves of various sizes and shapes; protected by a transparent, slightly yellowed, shaped plate. These ornaments were often added by the lacemakers of Puy en Velay on their tiles but are still rarely present on the tiles of Puy en Velay that have come down to us. We enclose about fifty turned wooden spindles and six lace boxes, one of which is for a collar with a label on the reverse side " Georges KASSAB & Cie CRAPONNE. (wear to the waxed cloth and to the roller, good condition of the gutters and of their tassels)
