SMITH Horace. Reuben Apsley, histoire du temps de Jacques II, published by Charles Gosselin, Paris, 1827, four volumes in two parts, in-4° (165 mm - 110 mm), handsomely bound in green morocco decorated in the centre of each plate with the arms of Prince William, Duke of Brunswick under the royal crown, edges gilt, inside bears the bookplate of Prince William, Duke of Brunswick. Spine decorated with a frieze, title in gold letters and stylized motifs. Slight age wear to corners, but overall good condition. Provenance: former collection of Prince William, Duke of Brunswick (1806-1830), second son of Frederick William of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1771-1815) and Mary of Baden (1782-1808), he was regent of the United Kingdom and prince of Hanover, on the death of his father in 1815 SET OF COMMEMORATIVE REMEMBRANCE OF CROWNINGS AND ROYAL JUBILEES OF THE COURT OF GREAT BRITAIN FROM QUEEN VICTORIA TO QUEEN ELISABETH II AMATEUR COLLECTION
