History : Radama II (1829-1863) was a Malagasy king who reigned over the kingdom of Madagascar from 1861 to 1863. He proclaimed the freedom of worship and opened the doors of the kingdom to Europeans. This displeased the majority of the country's notables who decided to have him assassinated.
