FRANCOIS-FERDINAND, archiduc d'Autriche (1863-1914). Pair of gold cufflinks, oval shape, decorated with the monogram of the Austrian crown prince F. F. (Franz Ferdinand) under a crown in blue enamel letters. Preserved in its original leather case of the house F. Halder in Vienna, decorated on the lid with a crown. A note in English accompanying the object states: "These cufflinks, in gold with crown and blue cross enamel, were given to my father by Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, probably in London around 1912/1913. The donor was the nephew of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria-Hungary. His assassination in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia, on June 28, 1914, triggered World War I." Good condition, time wear to the case. H. : 1,5 cm - L. : 1 cm. Total gross weight : 7,95 g.
