MEYERBEER Giacomo. Marguerite d'Anjou, opera semiseria in due atti composto e ridotto per il cembalo da G. Meyerbeer, printed in Paris, by Maurice Schlesinger, volume in-folio (410x290 mm), 180 pages gilt on edges, decorated in the opening with a lithograph signed by Geoffroy Engelmann (1788-1839), beautiful period binding in red morocco, stamped in the centre of each plate with the coat of arms of the duchess of Berry, on the left the shield of Artois (azure with three fleur-de-lis embattled gules), on the right the quartered shield of the Two Sicilies surmounted by a crown of sons of France and surrounded by an olive branch and a lily branch proper gold. The outer border is framed by a cold frieze decorated at each corner with a stylized motif and a gold frieze in small irons, smooth spine decorated with gold fleurons, title in gold letters. Text in Italian. Spine unstained, age wear, freckles.
