BREVET DE SERVICE SIGNED BY THE DUKE OF BERRY. Printed on watermarked laid paper, surmounted by the Great Arms of the House of France, established at the Tuileries castle, on January 1, 1816 and countersigned by the prince's secretary, General Charles de Fontanes. Bends, traces of humidity, but good general condition. H. : 32,5 cm - W. : 47,5 cm. See illustration page 47. Text: "We Charles-Ferdinand, duke of Berry (...) general of the Chasseurs à cheval and Lanciers, Commander in chief of the royal Army in Belgium; certifying that Mr Chevigné, bodyguard, company Grammont followed the king in Belgium, that he formed part of the Army Corps under my command, and that he gave proofs of fidelity, zeal and of his devotion for the service of His Majesty."
