GODWIN, Franck (Francis Godwin, 1889-1959) Rusty Riley Sunday page, circa 1950. Chinese ink on paper for this series published from 1948 to 1959, distributed as a comic strip during the week and full page on Sundays (according to the custom of comic book publications in American newspapers), published by King feature syndicate and reprinted in Europe: Jo Lumière in Spirou (1948-1953), Bob Rilet in Donald (1948-1953), Samedi-Jeunesse (1958) and Creek (1959), Boby and Nanette in Le Journal de Mickey (1955-1956). The strip was also published in the dailies Le Parisien libéré (1948-1957) and France Soir (1954-1955) and then more briefly in Tiercé (1962)2. In France, Rusty Riley inspired the P'tit Joc series by André Joy and Jean Ollivier. Traces of patches. Dimensions: 60 x 41 cm
