Incroyables et marveluses, circa 1910 Folded fan, the sheet in silk mesh and silver net, enhanced with grey satin sequins. Three cartels are painted in a grey cameo of elegant people in the taste of the neo-Empire fashion of the 1910s. The figure on the right is taken from the famous engraving "Les Merveilleuses" by Carle Vernet (1797). In the centre, "La folie du Jour" and on the left, a figure from "Point de convention" (1797) after Boilly. Dumb reverse. Black mother-of-pearl mount known as Tahiti. Silver plated metal clasp.
