The meeting of Napoleon III and Tsar Alexander II, circa 1867 Rare historical fan, with engraved and heightened silk palmettes, celebrating the meeting of two emperors: Napoleon III, emperor of France and Alexander II, emperor of Russia. Around them, the empress Eugenie, and their suites. In the background, the central pavilion of the Tuileries Palace, the imperial residence. The Tsar of Russia visited Paris in 1867 for the Universal Exhibition. Revers painted with golden flowers. Cut-out, engraved and sculpted white mother-of-pearl mounting. In the center a couple joins hands. Gilded metal clasp. H.t. 27 cm-H.f. 13,5 cm (accidents, restorations)
