Salomon and the Queen of Sheba, circa 1750 - Lot 115
Salomon and the Queen of Sheba, circa 1750 Rare and large fan called "full flight", opening at 180 degrees. The leaf is made of skin and lined with paper, and painted with gouache. In the center, the Queen of Sheba bows down and places a box of perfumes at Solomon's feet. The king leaves his throne to welcome her. At the sides, a camel evokes his journey, while men move bundles and barrels. On a barrel on the right, the initials "VB". On the reverse, a couple. White mother-of-pearl mounting, engraved and enhanced in colours with two symmetrical cartels on a gallant subject. Reprise with the pink line of the decoration of the face.
