Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, circa 1750 Folded fan, the double sheet in gouache of a room opening onto a garden where a sovereign is enthroned. He receives the visit of a queen, under the look of soldiers and a servant. Reverse: a bird taken out of its cage by a young girl. White mother-of-pearl mount cut, carved, engraved and gilded with a dance scene in the center, and of loves and flowers on the sides. The plumes are embellished with bust portraits of a woman and a man, in miniature under mica. H.t. 26 cm H.f. 11 cm (restorations) See illustration page 27
