Jesus and the Samaritan Woman, ca. 1750 Folded fan, the skin sheet mounted in English, painted with gouache of Jesus sitting on the curb of a well and speaking to the Samaritan woman. The composition is close to "The Samaritan Woman" by Philippe de Champaigne (1602-1674), preserved in the Caen Museum of Fine Arts. Dumb reverse. Ivory mount* cut out and engraved in mirror of a couple among birds, and architectures. The head carved in shell. H.t. 28 cm-H.f. 14 cm (restorations) In a box bearing the address of the 19th century Parisian perfumer, "Vanier".
