Jason and the Golden Fleece, ca. 1750-1760 Folded fan, the double gouache-painted sheet of Jason presenting himself before the rulers Eetes and his daughter Medea. In one hand he holds a sword, and in the other lifts the remains of a sheep, the "golden fleece". Reverse side painted presumably of the meeting of Armide and Renaud. White mother-of-pearl mount pierced, engraved, the throat burgundy and silvered. H.t. 27,2 cm - H.f. 12,2 cm (restorations, cuts in the leaf). See illustration page 31
